About Us

Kijana Factory is a social enterprise working to bridge the gender gap in agriculture by transforming women and youth farmers from subsistence growers to successful agri-entrepreneurs. We equip them with essential financial skills, value addition knowledge, and market linkages to help grow their agribusinesses sustainably.

Our innovative farm-to-factory model provides women and youth with access to local drying and packaging spaces where they process herbs, spices, and other crops—extending shelf life and increasing market value. We also connect them with financial information and opportunities to expand their businesses.

To ensure continuous markets and advocate for healthy, locally sourced food, we launched Kijana Spices—a wellness-focused brand that features spice powders, spice blends, and sea moss-based products, all crafted and manufactured by women and youth farmers. Current products include Chai Masala, Pilau Masala, Seasoning Sea Moss Salt, and Herbal Spice Powders, designed to inspire nutritious cooking while celebrating local agriculture and empowering women and youth in the food system.

Mission

To empower women and youth farmers with financial and value addition skills, transforming their farms into sustainable agribusinesses and connecting them to markets. Through our brand Kijana Spices, we champion healthy, locally made food products crafted by women and youth—building resilient communities and promoting food systems that are inclusive, nutritious, and economically empowering.

Vision

A world where women and youth farmers lead thriving agribusinesses, nourishing their communities with healthy, locally produced foods while driving economic and social transformation from farm to factory.
